But I am afraid that's not going to happen.JLearn French with Movies: The Quick GuideĬan you really learn French through movies, or is it just a convenient excuse for not doing your French homework? Part of me hopes that, tomorrow, I will not hear any pitch difference again, and that I will therefore be able to tell you I have been paranoid today. I did not find it as irritating as in the earlier SC releases, but I honestly felt the pitch of the HD DVD was slightly too high.

The SC package does include both cuts of the movie but, at least on the theatrical cut (which is the only one I checked), the English 5.1 comes with mandatory French subtitles the PQ seemed to me only slightly better than the BD (the greatest difference lying in the colors, which appear a lit bit more natural on the HD DVD) and, to top it all, I am quite convinced there is a pitch problem with the SC release. Take what follows as first impressions only I will try to spend some more time tonight or tomorrow to do a thorough comparison.Īnyway, here it goes: as far as these first impressions are concerned, bad news. I gave a quick look at T2 and compared it with the American BD. I got: T2, Traffic, Pacte des Loups, Grande Vadrouille, Bagdad Café. I live in Paris and got my hands this afternoon on a few titles from SC which are officially gonna be released on May 21.
